Hello Friends and Fam!
Shout out to Heather Conk and Megan McCain!! Happy birthday to the two of you this October 8! Love youu both.
Another quick week filled with lots of blessings! Sunday night Sister Lim and I got super motivated to work as hard as we possibly could this week to find new families and make the most of our time. And just those two things happened. We found an incredible couple, Michelle and Ray Manalansan, another Ocampo Family--Robert and Corazon and their four children, (they are not however related to our Ocampo family that was just baptized). Michelle and Ray happen to be the neighbors of our bishop, Michelle is a teacher in high school and Ray is a sea man. They are both 24, and newly weds that are madly in love. They were AMAZED when we shared about temples in our first lesson with them and the fact that eternal life is actually real was the best thing they had ever heard. They weren't able to come to church this Sunday because they had some family come in town, but said they will be there next week. They know a ton of members in the ward, and I guess Michelle even told her class that we have been teaching them, she has also reached out to some of the members in our ward telling them we are teaching them. They're so sick! Robert and Corozon Ocampo have four children under the age of 7 and are pregnant as well. We knocked on their door on Saturday afternoon, they let us in and at the end of our lesson we extended the commitment to come to church and without hesitation they said yes. Unfortunately they didn't make it either because brother's boss called him into work last minute Sunday, but they also said they will for sure come next week. (Just in time for general conference!)
On the bright side, we did however have twelve less actives at church again which was AWESOME! These families are coming back full force and the ward is so excited. President Dahle showed up at our zone meeting on Friday and challenged us to share about the temples and family history work with everyone that we teach. The days after that, that was ALL we taught! We got the Ocampo Family-Arnold, Lesly, Owen, Oliver, and Oien a date for next September to go to the temple to be sealed as a family one year after their baptism. We also commited the sweet Ramirez family to get to the temple by the end of this year to be sealed. We also have some less actives, formerly endowed, that we are working with to get worthy again and get back to the temple to renew their covenants. It's incredible to see how excited these families get when we talk about the temples. My testimony has really been strengthened about the importance of completing all five of the saving ordinances of the gospel, not just baptism and confirmation..but also getting the men the Melchezidek Priesthood, then endowment, and temple sealing. This church is true. You can just see it through the organization of everything, there are no holes or gaps in the plan that God has made for us, it's all sketched out so perfectly. There is no way man could have organized such a perfect church. And that's just the structure of the church that says it's true, let alone the spirit that rages always, the temples, the book of mormon, everything. Ah the church is true.
I love my calling as a missionary, every day is just flying by faster and faster. I am so excited to see you all again, but I am also so excited to give the last two months I have left everything I've got. It reminds me of my soccer team's cheer in club, All Out, All Heart, One MORE.
Love you all, Have a great week.
